TCC Softball climbs into NJCAA top ten

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 26, 2014) – After climbing to No. 2 in this week's FCSAA Softball Coaches' Poll, Tallahassee Community College made a move up the national poll on Wednesday, receiving a No. 6 ranking from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). 

Tallahassee moved up five spots from last week's No. 11 ranking. 

The Eagles are one of four teams from Florida in the top 20, joining No. 2 Indian River State College, No. 11 Polk State College and No. 20 Daytona State College. 

The College of Central Florida, ranked No. 6 last week, dropped out of the poll but received votes. 

This is Tallahassee's highest NJCAA ranking since being ranked No. 2 during the 2012 season. 

The Eagles, who sit atop the Panhandle Conference standings with a 9-1 league record, continue play on Thursday when they travel to Pensacola State College for a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. eastern.
