Tallahassee receives No. 3 seed in St. George, opens against San Jac

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 11, 2014) – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released the seeding for the upcoming Division I Softball National Championship on Sunday afternoon and Tallahassee Community College will head to St. George, Utah, as the tournament's No. 3 seed. 

Tallahassee (41-12), the District H Champion, will open the 16-team, double-elimination tournament against 14-seed San Jacinto (Texas)-South, champions of District L, at 8:30 p.m. eastern Wednesday, May 14 at the Canyons Complex. 

Tallahassee, making its third NJCAA tournament appearance in seven seasons, also opened the 2008 tournament against San Jacinto. 

Tallahassee will play its second game of the tournament on Thursday – either a 4:30 p.m. eastern elimination game or 7 p.m. eastern winner's bracket game – against either six-seed Odessa (Texas) College or 11-seed Seminole State (Okla.) College. 

Games continue on Friday, May 16 and conclude with the championship round on Saturday, May 17.
