TCC’s Dominique Davis signs with Albany State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 16, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College softball standout Dominique Davis will continue her academic and athletic career in her home state after signing a national letter of intent with Albany State University.

Davis, a native of Cairo, Ga., recently completed a two-year career with the Eagles in which she appeared in 73 games.

"Dom is one of the most improved players to ever play at TCC," said Tallahassee head coach Patti Townsend. "I fully expect her to take what she has learned (at TCC) and continue to grow as a player at Albany State.

"She will be a huge asset to their program and an immediate impact player."

Defensively, Davis played in right field. She also filled the role of designated player and, at times, came off the bench to provide a speed option on the bases for Townsend's Eagles.

She scored 18 runs and stole nine bases in 2014 after crossing the plate 11 times and swiping five bases as a freshman a season before.

Albany State, an NCAA Division II program, is located in Albany, Ga., and competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
