TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 1, 2015) – The Tallahassee Community College Eagles split a doubleheader on Wednesday night against the Northwest Florida State College Raiders and remained in a tie for third place in the Panhandle Conference standings.

The Eagles are now 23-11 on the season and 3-5 in Panhandle Conference play.

In game one, the Eagles pulled off another walk-off victory, beating the Raiders 3-2.

Tallahassee got on the board first, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning.

Taesha Duboise got on base on a mishandled ball by the shortstop then stole second base to move into scoring position. That's when Kayla Boucher singled to centerfield to score Duboise and give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

The Eagles added to their lead in the second inning when Jaylene Pryor was driven home by Brooke Marendino's triple to left field for a 2-0 lead.

The Raiders got on the board with a run of their own in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 2-1. In the seventh inning, the Raiders took advantage of a pair of Eagle miscues and tied the game at 2-all.

In the bottom half of the seventh inning, the Eagles had two runners on base after both Marendino and Danielle Patterson reached on singles. With two outs, a passed ball allowed Marendino and Patterson to advance into scoring position. Then, Boucher singled to deep centerfield to bring Marendino home as the Eagles walked off with a 3-2 victory.

Marendino went 2-for-4 with a run, RBI and a triple.

Mariah Rivera got the start for the Eagles and went seven innings, her 11th complete game of the season. With today's victory, Rivera improved her record to 7-3 on the season.

In game two, it would be a different story for the Eagles as they struggled offensively and were shut out by the Raiders, losing 1-0.

Northwest Florida State took advantage of a Tallahassee error in the top of the first and scored the first and only run of the game.

Tallahassee's Alexandra Cook went the distance in the circle, allowing only three hits and struck out four. Still, it wasn't enough as she suffered her first loss of the season to drop to 7-1.

Brianna Tourtillott went 1-for-4 with a double in game two.

The Eagles will start the second half of the Panhandle Conference schedule by hosting Pensacola State College in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.
