TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 14, 2015) – Tallahassee Community College, on Wednesday, releases its 2015 softball schedule

The Eagles head into the upcoming campaign as the reigning FCSAA State and Panhandle Conference Champions.

Tallahassee will open the 2015 season at the JUCO Kickoff Tournament and Showcase in Clearwater, Fla. The Eagles’ opening game is against St. Petersburg College at 4:20 p.m., Friday, January 30. The two-day event concludes Saturday, January 31 with games against Wallace (Ala.) State Community College-Hanceville (9 a.m.) and Richard Bland (Va.) College (1:20 p.m.).

The Eagles will then head back to Tallahassee for their home opener, a doubleheader against Andrew (Ga.) College on February 4 followed by a doubleheader against Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College two days later.

Later in February, the schedule features a pair of non-conference foes who joined the Eagles in St. George, Utah, for the 2014 NJCAA Tournament – Chattanooga (Tenn.) State Community College and Southern Union (Ala.) State Community College.

Chattanooga State visits Tallahassee on February 21 for a doubleheader.  The Tigers were ranked No. 6 in the final NJCAA poll of 2014.  Tallahassee will play Southern Union on February 27 as part of the two-day GPC Spring Invitational in Covington, Ga. Southern Union finished 2014 ranked as the No. 12 team in the NJCAA poll.

The Eagles open defense of their PC Championship on March 18 with a doubleheader at Pensacola State College. The PC home opener is three days later against Gulf Coast State College.

The Eagles’ 16-game Panhandle Conference schedule includes home-and-home doubleheaders against each of the four conference rivals.

The top four teams in the PC will qualify for the FCSAA State Tournament in Vero Beach, Fla., May 1-3. This year’s tournament will feature a new format – a 16-team, double-elimination event which replaces two separate eight-team tournaments. The final two teams will qualify for the NJCAA Tournament and play a single game to determine the state champion.
