TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 6, 2016) – Region 8 No. 5 Tallahassee Community College dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader to Region 8 No. 2/NJCAA No. 3 College of Central Florida, 6-0 and 12-1.

Tallahassee is now 3-3 on the season and will continue its six-game home stand at 5 p.m. Tuesday with a doubleheader against St. Johns River State College.

In the opener, Central Florida scored two runs in the first off Tallahassee starter Alexandra Cook and that was all the offense the Patriots needed.

The Eagles managed only four hits against Patriots game one starter and winning pitcher Kalen McGill, who struck out five and walked none.

Central Florida completed the scoring with single runs in the third, fourth, sixth and seventh innings.

Elisa Cecchetti, Alyssa NeSmith, Brooke Bates and Jaylene Pryor collected the Eagles' four game one hits.

Central Florida used an eight-run fourth to pick up a 12-1, five-inning win in game two to complete the sweep.

Down 2-0 after a half inning, Tallahassee got one of the runs back in its first at-bat.

Brooke Marendino led off the inning with a walk, advanced to second on Kristin Gunter's single and scored two batters later on a single by Madisen Blair

Central Florida extended its lead to 4-1 with two runs in the third then put the game away in the fifth. The Patriots took advantage of three Tallahassee errors and collected six hits while sending 11 batters to the plate.

Raya Moncus took the loss in the circle for Tallahassee.
