TCC’s Tourtillott signs with Florida Gulf Coast

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 10, 2015) - Tallahassee Community College softball standout Brianna Tourtillott has signed a national letter of intent with Florida Gulf Coast University.

Tourtillott, who hails from Dixon, Ill., played her freshman season at the University of Texas-El Paso in 2014, where she appeared in 21 games as a catcher and posted a .300 batting average with three RBIs.

Last fall, she transferred to Tallahassee, where a change in scenery was accompanied by not one, but two, changes in position. Tourtillott opened the 2015 season at shortstop before moving to left field in order to help solidify the Eagles’ defense. She was the only player to start all 50 games during the Eagles’ 2015 campaign, which ended with a fourth-place finish in the revamped 16-team FCSAA State Softball Tournament.

Offensively, she led the team in home runs (4), RBI (42) and slugging percentage (.465) en route to being named Second-team All-Panhandle Conference.

At Florida Gulf Coast, Tourtillott will team up with another former Tallahassee standout, pitcher Ashley Dobson, who played for the Eagles in 2013 and 2014.

Florida Gulf Coast, an NCAA Division I program, is located in Ft. Myers, Fla., and competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
