#TCCSoftball takes two on day one in Dothan

DOTHAN, Ala. (February 8, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College's softball team took a pair of games on day one of the Visit Dothan Invitational, hosted by Chipola College. 

Tallahassee defeated Snead (Ala.) State Community College, 7-2, in its first game of the day then turned around and knocked off Meridian (Miss.) Community College, 14-1. 

Against Snead State, the Eagles broke open a close game with four runs in the top of the seventh en route to the win. 

Tallahassee doubled up Meridian in the hit column, ten to five, and had three players with two hits each – Ismay Poot, Lily Adams and Aliyah Guilliam

Emma Fowler (1-1) went the distance for Tallahassee. She allowed only five hits. 

In game two, the Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second and never looked back, winning 14-1. Tallahassee put seven runs on the board in the top of the seventh. 

Olivia Russell went 5-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. She finished a triple away from hitting for the cycle. 

Dyamond Brown added a pair of hits and three RBIs. Lily Adams had two hits, as well. 

Sidney Mathis (3-3) went the distance and allowed only five hits. She struck out seven.

Tallahassee will play two more games at the event on Saturday beginning with an 11 a.m. eastern first pitch against Wallace (Ala.) State Community College-Hanceville.
