TCC's Jasmine Floyd signs with Francis Marion

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 21, 2012) - Tallahassee Community College women's basketball standout Jasmine Floyd has signed a national letter of intent with Francis Marion University. 

Floyd, a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., enrolled at Tallahassee in 2011 and walked on to the Lady Eagles' roster in 2011-12 before earning a scholarship in the spring semester. 

In 24 games with Tallahassee, Floyd averaged 2.4 points and 3.0 rebounds. 

"She (Floyd) did a great job, both academically and on the court," said Tallahassee head coach Teresa Atkinson. "She hung in there and finished strong, and we're very proud of her." 

Floyd previously attended Florida Memorial University in 2007-08 and averaged 6.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in nine games. 

Floyd, a recent graduate of TCC, will have two years of eligibility remaining at Francis Marion. 

Francis Marion, located in Florence, S.C., is an NCAA Division II school who competes in the Peach Belt Conference.
