TCC hosts Southern Challenge Jamboree on Saturday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 19, 2012) – Eighteen of the top NJCAA women's basketball teams in the Southeast will be in action at Tallahassee Community College on Saturday when the 2012 Southern Challenge Jamboree tips off at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome and Lifetime Sports Complex. 

Saturday's event is also the first opportunity for fans to catch the 2012-13 Lady Eagles in action, as they prepare for the November 2 season opener against Albany (Ga.) Technical College. 

The Southern Challenge Jamboree will feature teams from Florida, Georgia and Alabama, all of whom will play in front of coaches representing a who's who of four-year schools nationwide. Each of the 18 teams will play three games, which consists of two 20-minutes halves with a running clock.  

Three games will be played simultaneously, starting on the hour, beginning at 10 a.m., including Tallahassee against Georgia Highlands College. Tallahassee will also play at 3 p.m. against South Georgia Technical College and in the final round of games, which begin at 6 p.m., against Daytona State College. 

All three of Tallahassee's games will be played on the floor of the Bill Hebrock Eagledome. 

Other teams participating in the 2012 Southern Challenge Jamboree include: Albany Technical College, Brevard Community College, Central Georgia Technical College, Chipola College, College of Central Florida, Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, Georgia Perimeter College, Gulf Coast State College, Hillsborough Community College, Northwest Florida State College, Pensacola State College, Santa Fe College and St. Petersburg College.
