Back on the road, Lady Eagles head to Gainesville for Shootout

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 30, 2012) – After a brief two-game home stand, FCSAA No. 5 Tallahassee Community College (6-2) is back on the road for its next four contests, beginning with Friday's opening game at the Florida College's Women's Basketball Shootout.

The annual event is again split between two sites that are just 36 miles apart – Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla., and the College of Central Florida, located in Ocala.

After playing in Ocala the previous two seasons, Tallahassee was assigned to the Santa Fe campus this weekend and will play a pair of Southern Conference foes – Brevard Community College (Friday, 4 p.m.) and Indian River State College (Saturday, 4 p.m.).

The Lady Eagles have become quite familiar with the Southern Conference through their first eight games, having already scored wins over St. Petersburg College, Broward College and Miami Dade College, the latter two coming at last week's TCC Basketball Thanksgiving Classic presented by G&G Caribbean Restaurant.

Tallahassee has enjoyed early season success, including a brief appearance in the NJCAA rankings, despite a series of injuries that has prevented the Lady Eagles from playing with a full roster, although they may take another step in that direction this weekend.

Sophomore post player Yanique Gordon, whose 2011-12 season ended in February with a knee injury, is expected to make her season debut, although her minutes will be limited.

Sophomore point guard Sarah Williams has not played since injuring her foot less than three minutes into the season opener on November 2. She will be a game-time decision on Friday.
