CGBR ranks quartet of Eagles among nation’s best

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 11, 2013) – The Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, directed by analyst and former collegiate basketball coach Dan Olson, has released its preseason NJCAA player rankings and a quartet from Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team has made the cut. 

The report, which ranks the nation's top players, both overall and by position, included rising sophomores Karley Barnes (No. 18 overall/No. 4 post), Aiyannah Peal (No. 43/No. 9 power forward), Aariel Allen (No. 44/No. 10 power forward) and Jasmine Kemp (No. 53/No. 12 post). 

Barnes, who is from Milwaukee, Wis., appeared in 25 games as a freshman and averaged 6.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Earlier this summer, she was named an NJCAA All-Star and participated in the NJCAA Women's Basketball All-Star event in Niceville, Fla. 

Peal, who is from Willow Grove, Pa., appeared in 24 games as a freshman and averaged 5.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. 

Allen, a sophomore from Gainesville, Fla., saw action in 24 games and averaged 4.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. 

Kemp, a sophomore from Stone Mountain, Ga., transferred to Tallahassee from East Tennessee State University, where she played her freshman season. Kemp appeared in 23 games in 2012-13 and averaged 1.7 points and 3.3 rebounds. 

Tallahassee, under the direction of first-year head coach Franqua "Q" Bedell, opens the 2013-14 season November 1 at Hillsborough Community College.
