Eagle women bounce back on the road

DECATUR, Ga. (November 22, 2014) – FCSAA No. 4 Tallahassee Community College bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 63-49 win at Georgia Perimeter College on Saturday morning.

The Eagles (6-1) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten at home on Tuesday, losing 70-65 to Santa Fe College. They righted the ship on Saturday, however, sending the Jaguars (1-6) to their sixth loss in seven games.

Tallahassee jumped out to a 29-20 lead at the half, thanks in large part to its defense, which limited Georgia Perimeter to 8-of-30 shooting (26.7 percent) in the first 20 minutes. The Eagles also forced 38 turnovers in the game and claimed a 23-5 advantage in points off turnovers.

The rebounding battle also went the way of the blue and gold, as Tallahassee outrebounded the Jaguars, 57-44, including a 22-9 advantage on the offensive glass.

Karley Barnes' double-double paced Tallahassee, as she recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds. Barnes sat out Tuesday's game, nursing an ankle sprain suffered in last Saturday's win over Andrew (Ga.) College.

Marija Pacar also scored 11 points for the Eagles.

Tallahassee will host the Capital Courtyard Classic Tuesday, November 25-Thursday, November 27. Women's action begins with a tripleheader on Tuesday, concluding with an 8 p.m. game between Tallahassee and Southern Union (Ala.) State Community College.
