Eagles Take on Patriots To Begin 6 Game Road Trip

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 3, 2014) – The TCC Eagles women's basketball team will take on the College of Central Florida on the road at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

This will be the second matchup between these two teams.  Their first matchup came less than a month ago when they faced off in the Veterans Day Classic in Tallahassee.  That matchup saw the Eagles come away with an eight-point victory over the Patriots.

TCC currently leads the series 20-13 and has dominated the series as of late going 8-2 in its last ten games and 4-1 in the last five meetings.

The Eagles are coming off a victory over nationally-ranked Walters (Tenn.) State Community College.  TCC's defense set a record for points allowed by holding Walters State to 28 in the 18-point (46-28) victory.

The Patriots are currently 7-3 on the season and are led by Thais Oliviera, who averages 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. In their last meeting with the Eagles, Gala dominated the boards and was a scoring force inside for the Patriots.  She was also assisted by the play of Brittany Grant who had a season high 23 points against the Eagles.

The Tallahassee defense will look to control the pace and limit the big plays by Oliviera and Grant.

This will be the start of a six-game road trip for Tallahassee, who returns home on December 30 for the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic.
