Eagle Women Improve To 12-3 with 83-27 Victory

NICEVILLE, Fla. (December 17, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team (NJCAA #14/FCSAA #4) defeated Bishop (Ala.) State Community College 83-27 as a part of the Northwest Florida State College Winter Classic.

A quartet of scorers, which included Eboni Watts, Jeremica Edwards, Marija Pacar, and Paris Johnson Jones, led the Eagle women.  All four scored in double digits, led by Johnson Jones with 14. She shot 6-of-8 from the floor. Pacar hit four of seven shots, all three-pointers, to finish with 12. Edwards added ten on 5-of-7 shooting while Watts went 2-3 from three-point range en route to ten points.

Tallahassee was not just impressive offensively but played solid defense holding Bishop State to 27 points, breaking the school record for fewest points allowed in a game. The previous record was set on November 27 against Walters (Tenn.) State Community College when the Eagles allowed 28 points.  The Eagles were able to steal the ball 22 times and also blocked four shots.

Cat Wells led the team in assists and steals with seven and four, respectively.

Tallahassee will be back in action on Thursday as they take on Snead (Ala.) State Community College at 2:30 p.m. eastern to wrap up the first half of the season before heading into the winter break.  Their next home game will be on December 30 at 5:30 p.m. against Georgia Perimeter College.
