Eagles enter break on high note, defeat Snead State 81-48

NICEVILLE, Fla. (December 18, 2014) – The Tallahassee Eagles women's basketball team (NJCAA #14/FCSAA #4) finished the first half of the season with an 81-48 victory over Snead (Ala.) State Community College on Thursday afternoon at the Northwest Florida State College Winter Classic. Tallahassee enters the break with a 13-3 record.

The Eagles dominated in all phases for the second game in a row.  Marija Pacar led the team in scoring with 21 points while shooting 6-for-12 from the three-point line.  Cat Wells also got in on the scoring action adding 20 points and going an impressive 4-for-5 from three-point range.  The Eagles' ability to effectively score can be contributed to the unselfish play of Wells and Benedicta Makakala who both recorded seven assists on the night.

Pacar also made her presence felt on the defensive side of the ball as she led the team in rebounding.  The Eagles pulled down a total of 35 rebounds with nine of them belonging to Pacar, three of which were offensive.

The Eagles will be back in action on December 30 & 31 at home as part of the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic.  Their first game against Georgia Perimeter College will tip off at 5:30 p.m. The Eagle women will wrap up their non-conference schedule on December 31 with a game against Garrett (Md.) College before beginning conference play against Northwest Florida State College on January 3.
