Eagles double up Garrett in Holiday Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 31, 2014) – In its final tune-up before Saturday's Panhandle Conference opener, NJCAA No. 14/FCSAA No. 4 Tallahassee Community College defeated Garrett (Md.) College, 90-45, on Wednesday evening at the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic. 

Tallahassee finishes its non-conference schedule with a 15-3 record. 

Wednesday's game was never in doubt. 

Behind the strength of 52.5 percent (21-of-40) shooting from the floor, the Eagles ran out to a comfortable 52-18 lead at the half then cruised home over the final 20 minutes. 

Four players scored in double-figures for Tallahassee, led by Cat Wells, who came off the bench to score 14. Jeremica Edwards added 12, also in a reserve role. Eboni Watts scored 11 and Aryn Tarver, 10. 

The Eagles also dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Lakers, 50-29. Karley Barnes and D'Arcy Draper pulled down eight rebounds each, to claim team-high honors. 

Further aiding Tallahassee's cause was 40 Garrett turnovers, which it converted into 41 points.
