TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 30, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team defeated Georgia Perimeter College 61-44 on the opening day of the Tallahassee Democrat Holiday Classic.

The Eagles were led by the play of Karley Barnes.  Barnes scored seven points in the Eagles' victory but her biggest impact was felt on the defensive side of the ball where she pulled down a season high 15 rebounds.  Barnes was dominant on both the offensive and defensive boards grabbing six and nine respectively.

After a closely fought first half the Eagles were able to hold Georgia Perimeter to 17 second half points.

The Eagles will wrap up the classic tomorrow when they take on Garrett (Md.) College at 4:30 p.m.  This will be the final non-conference game before opening Panhandle Conference play on Saturday against Northwest Florida State College.
