PENSACOLA, Fla. (January 7, 2015) – The Tallahassee Community College Eagles improved to 2-0 in Panhandle Conference women's basketball play with a 92-56 victory over the Pensacola State College Pirates Wednesday evening.

Tallahassee, who climbed to No. 11 in the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Poll on Wednesday and is ranked No. 2 in the FCSAA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, is now 17-3 overall.

The Eagles jumped on the Pirates early and never let up. Tallahassee entered halftime with a 21-point lead on 51.4 percent shooting.  The Eagles would add to that lead in the second half as they extended the margin to 36 by the time the final buzzer sounded.

On the night, the Eagles shot a season-high 50 percent from the field.  Five players scored in double figures with Cat Wells recording a double-double, her first of the season, en route to a second straight TCC Eagle of the Game selection.  Wells finished the night with 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting and 10 assists.  Other scorers that got in on the action were Karley Barnes, who led the team in scoring with 18 points, Eboni Watts with 14, Wendion Bibbins with 12, and Jeremica Edwards with 13.

As a team the Eagles forced the Pirates to turn the ball over 34 times.  They also outrebounded the Pirates by seven, pulling down 33 boards.  Barnes led the team rebounding as she pulled down a total of seven rebounds with five of them coming on the offensive end.

The 92 points scored in tonight's game is the third time the Eagles have eclipsed the 90-point mark this season, and is the team's second-highest offensive output this season.

The Eagles will be back in action at home on Saturday, January 10 at 5:30 p.m. against Gulf Coast State College.  Admission will be $5 with TCC Faculty/Staff and students free with a valid TCC ID.
