Season still alive for Eagle women

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 18, 2015) - Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball season is still alive.

By virtue of Northwest Florida State College's 64-61 win over Gulf Coast State College on Wednesday evening, Tallahassee is guaranteed to play one more game - either in a one-game Panhandle Conference playoff or the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Tournament.

Tallahassee (5-7 PC), who concluded its regular season on Tuesday, holds a half-game lead over Gulf Coast State (4-7) for the PC's third and final playoff berth. Gulf Coast State will travel to Pensacola State College (0-11) on Saturday in its regular season finale.

Should Gulf Coast State win, Tallahassee and the Commodores will meet in a one-game playoff at 7:30 p.m. eastern, Tuesday, February 24 in Marianna, Fla., with the winner advancing to the postseason.

If Pensacola State wins on Saturday, Tallahassee will claim the postseason berth outright and advance to the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Tournament in Ocala, Fla., March 4-7.
