Wilson, Watts pace Tallahassee in season-opener

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 30, 2015) – Lawriell Wilson and Eboni Watts led three players in double-figures as NJCAA Region 8 No. 6 Tallahassee Community College picked up a 67-59 win over Baltimore City Community College in Friday's season opener at the Atlanta Metro State College Classic.

Wilson, making her collegiate debut after missing the entire 2014-15 season due to an injury, scored 19 points to pace the Eagles' offensive attack. Watts, the lone returning player on the Tallahassee roster, added 18 points on the strength of four three-pointers.

True freshman Sabrina Banks, a high school teammate of Wilson's, scored 13 points, all in the second half.

Playing for the first time under a slew of new NJCAA women's basketball rules, the Eagles led 16-14 after the first quarter and 30-23 at the half.

The Eagles will return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday against host Atlanta Metro State College.
