Eagle women knock off Atlanta Metro State for 2-0 start

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 31, 2015) – A balanced scoring attack sent NJCAA Region 8 No. 6 Tallahassee Community College to a 78-54 win over Atlanta Metro State College on Saturday afternoon.

Tallahassee picked up wins in both of its games at the Atlanta Metro State College Classic and will bring a 2-0 record into Tuesday's 6 p.m. home opener against No. 3 Daytona State College.

Four players scored in double-figures for the Eagles, led by sophomore guard Eboni Watts, who tossed in a game-high 23 points. Freshman guard Janessa Murphy scored 16 points off the bench.

Sabrina Banks added 13 and Lawriell Wilson scored 10.

The Eagles led throughout on Saturday, racing out to a 25-16 lead after the first quarter and a 46-31 advantage at the intermission. Tallahassee eventually led by as many as 29 points (76-47).

Prior to Tuesday's game, the TCC Foundation will host a tip-off tailgate party beginning at 5 p.m. outside the entry to the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.
