TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 9, 2016) – Saturday evening, Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team took on its arch-rival, Chipola College. A narrow 73-69 loss leaves the Eagles at 1-2 in Panhandle Conference play.

The Eagles competed throughout and lead on several occasions but could not pull out the win, instead taking their second loss in the early part of the conference season. Chipola has now won eight in a row in the series.

The Eagles lead at the half 35-32, but Chipola stormed out of the locker room with a 10-0 run to start the third quarter. Tallahassee battled back, however, and trailed by only two points, 57-55, to start the fourth.

With 8:34 left in the fourth, Sabrina Banks knocked down two free throws to force a 57-57 score, the 12th and final tie of the game.

Chipola scored the next five points and went on a 12-4 run overall to take control, leading 69-61 at the 3:03 mark.

Four players scored in double-figures, led by Lawriell Wilson with 20 points. A consistent playmaker for the Eagles, Wilson played a key role in leading the team with 15 rebounds and three assists.

Monique Calliste followed scoring 13 points. Banks and Janessa Murphy had 11 points each.

The Eagles continue their conference play at Northwest Florida State College next Saturday at 6:30 p.m. eastern.
