#TCCBasketball: Records fall as Eagles rout Vincennes

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (November 12, 2017) – NJCAA No. 7/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College scored a school-record 128 points en route to a 128-72 win over NJCAA No. 23 Vincennes (Ind.) University in Saturday's neutral-site game played at Gulf Coast State College.

Tallahassee improved to 4-0 with the win.

The 128 points eclipsed the old record of 119 points, set against North Florida Community College on January 30, 2002.

The Eagles also set new marks for points in a quarter (49) and half (78).

Saturday's outcome was all but settled after the first quarter, as the Eagles sprinted to a 29-14 lead.

Any thoughts the Trail Blazers had of a comeback were squashed in the second quarter. Japonica James scored 19 points in the quarter alone, and Tallahassee put 49 points on the scoreboard on its way to a 78-37 halftime lead.

The Eagles hit the century mark in the third quarter and led 103-52 heading to the fourth.

Tallahassee's scoring spree was aided by a 22-of-24 performance from the free throw line.

James led six players in double-figures for Tallahassee, finishing with 30 points.

Jas Hill, making her season debut, knocked down six three-pointers on her way to a 29-point afternoon.

Juliunn Redmond added 22, Ayanna Mazyck had 11, and Jada Perry and Mari Hill contributed 10 points each.

Tallahassee plays its home opener at 11 a.m. Wednesday against IMG Academy as part of the Capital Courtyard Classic.
