#TCCBasketball: Defending Champs continue to roll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 28, 2018) – NJCAA No. 5/Region 8 No. 2 Tallahassee Community College ran its record to 8-0 with another runaway victory on Wednesday, 108-56 over visiting Andrew (Ga.) College.

Tallahassee has won 13 straight games dating back to last season.

Andrew is now 2-4.

Both teams got off to a slow start, with Tallahassee leading just 12-7 with 2:09 left in the first quarter, but the Eagles closed on an 8-1 run and led 20-8 after the first ten minutes.

Tallahassee all but put the game away with a 13-0 run to open the second quarter. Meanwhile, Andrew didn't score its first points of the quarter until the 4:31 mark and went more than nine minutes between field goals.

With time winding down in the quarter, Aliyah Lawson got the friendly bounce on a three-point attempt and the Eagles led 53-18 at the half.

Tallahassee connected on 26-of-48 field goal attempts in the second half, scoring 55 points en route to its fifth 100-point game of the season.

Juliunn Redmond led a quartet of Eagles in double-figures with 21 points. Tamia Riles added 20. Jada Perry scored 18 and Victoria Pearce, 12.

The Eagles will play their next ten games away from home beginning with this weekend's Florida College's Women's Basketball Shootout in Fort Myers, Fla. Tallahassee will play Eastern Florida State College at 4 p.m. Saturday and Indian River State College at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Eastern Florida State, who knocked Tallahassee out of last season's FCSAA State/NJCAA District Tournament, is the last team to beat the Eagles.
