Closing Statement: #TCCBasketball rolls in regular season finale

PENSACOLA, Fla. (February 23, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team finished the regular season with an 83-64 win at Pensacola State College on Saturday evening.

Tallahassee swept through the final round of the Panhandle Conference schedule to finish 7-5 in league play, tied for third with Chipola College but only one game back of co-champions Gulf Coast State College and Northwest Florida State College.

Overall, the Eagles are 25-5, marking the first time in school history to post consecutive 25-win seasons.

Tallahassee didn't take its first lead until De'Asia Reid's basket at the 2:10 mark of the first quarter yielded a 15-13 advantage. Pensacola State answered then Victoria Pearce scored to put the Eagles back in front 17-15 with 90 seconds left in the quarter.

The Eagles never trailed again.

Juliunn Redmond hit all five of her field goal attempts in the opening quarter and the Eagles led 21-18 through ten minutes.

Tallahassee opened the second quarter on a 13-2 run to gain some separation and eventually led 42-26 at the half.

The Eagles scored seven of the first nine points of the third quarter to push the lead past 20 for the first time and led 65-46 as the game moved to the fourth.

Redmond finished with 19 points and nine assists, the lone Tallahassee starter to reach double-figures.

The Eagles' reserves, however, came up with a huge night.

Daisha Bradford scored a game-high 26 points and Tameria Johnson added 10. Reid also had eight points and seven rebounds and Jada Perry scored seven.

With Gulf Coast State and Northwest Florida State representing the Panhandle Conference at the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Tournament, Tallahassee will find out if it receives an at-large berth to the NJCAA Tournament on March 11.
