Stepping Stones: Juliunn Redmond, Illinois State

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (August 19, 2019)— Tallahassee Community College women's basketball standout Juliunn Redmond has signed a national letter of intent with Illinois State University.

Redmond, who is from Chicago, Ill., played two seasons at Tallahassee under former head coach Franqua "Q" Bedell.

After helping the Eagles to the national championship as a freshman, Redmond took her game to another level as a sophomore.

The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 16.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 30 games during her sophomore season. She was named Player of the Year by both the Panhandle Conference and FCSAA and earned first-team all-America honors from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and NJCAA.

Off the court, Redmond earned all-academic honors from both the FCSAA and Panhandle Conference in both 2018 and 2019.

Located in Normal, Ill., the Division I Redbirds compete in the Missouri Valley Conference.

At Illinois State, Redmond will play for head coach Kristen Gillespie, whose father, Mike, was the head men's basketball coach at TCC from 1990-2001.
