Eagles dominate USC-Salk for fifth straight win

NICEVILLE, Fla. (November 16, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team won its fifth straight game on Saturday, defeating the University of South Carolina-Salkehatchie, 76-25, at the NWF Classic.

Tallahassee is now 5-1 on the season.

The 51-point win was due in large part to the Eagles' suffocating defense, who pitched a first-quarter shutout and held the Indians to single-digits in three of the four quarters.

Tallahassee needed 2:04 of the first quarter to get on the board, but eventually led 19-0 after the first quarter and 41-12 at the half.

The Eagles added to their lead with 21-8 and 14-5 advantages in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. Their final field goal of the game, at the 1:35 mark in the fourth, netted the Eagles' largest lead of the game.

For the second straight game, freshman guard Polina Nikulochkina threatened a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Fellow freshman Sedayjha Payne added 19 points.

All nine players who dressed scored, including walk-on Noelle Jackson, who had two points in four minutes of action.
