Eller, Chambers lead Eagles past Bossier Parish

PENSACOLA, Fla. (December 14, 2019) – Region 8 No. 10 Tallahassee Community College outscored Bossier Parish (La.) Community College, 25-16, in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 79-68 win on day two at the Pensacola State College Classic. 

Tallahassee has won three straight games and carries a 9-4 record into the holiday break. 

The Eagles led 19-17 after one quarter then outscored the Cavaliers, 22-17, in the second for a 41-34 lead at the intermission. Bossier Parish outscored Tallahassee in the third, 18-13, to pull within a bucket, 54-52, through three quarters. 

In the decisive fourth quarter, the Eagles got to the free throw line 16 times, connecting on 10, to stave off Bossier Parish's upset bid. 

Six players scored in double-figures for Tallahassee, led by season-highs from Olivia Eller and Briana Chambers, who had 17 and 16 points, respectively. 

Rita James and Polina Nikulochkina had 12 points each, Kyra Smith contributed 11 and Sedayjha Payne, 10. 

Tallahassee will return to action on December 30 when it travels to St. Petersburg College for a 2 p.m. tip against the Titans.
