JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 23, 2019) – One week after its FAMU Relays debut, Tallahassee Community College's track team ran in its second major event on Friday, the Sheraton University of North Florida Spring Break Invitational.

While the Eagles had only one top ten finish, Genevieve Printiss in the women's 1500m, several runners lowered their times in pursuit of qualifying for the NJCAA championships later this spring.

Printiss got things started for the Eagles, finishing eighth in the women's 1500m with a time of 5:05.23 – her only event of the afternoon.

Up next was the men's 400m, where both Mekhi Reynolds and Sheldon Wilson lowered the school's previous-low time of 52.15. Reynolds finished in 51.80 while Wilson ran a 51.92.

The always-exciting 100m races didn't disappoint. After the women's event produced another pair of personal-bests by Njaree Collins (13.52) and Asia Charlton (15.71), Jovanny Valdez ran in, arguably, the race of the day for the men.

In the third heat of the men's 100m, the top six runners were separated by less than one-tenth of a second. Valdez finished fourth in 11.138 but was just .01 out of second. He finished 25th overall.

Antonio Durant was well off the pace of the race leaders, but still posted a PR of 12.12.

One week after claiming first place honors at the FAMU Relays, Mia Wiederkehr lowered her time in the women's 800m, finishing in 2:24.50, good for 25th place.

In the men's 800m, Gannon Hundley topped Khalil Randell for the first time in the men's 800m. Hundley ran a 2:07.69 while Randell finished in 2:08.54.

In the Eagles' final event, the men's 200m, both Reynolds and Valdez improved their times en route to top 20 finishes. Reynolds ran a 22.53, good for 17th, while Valdez finished 19th with a time of 22.69. Sheldon Wilson ran a 24.03.

The Eagles will head to Albany State University on Saturday, March 30 for the Alice Coachman Invitational.
