#TCCWXC’s Samantha Reilly takes top female honors at Prefontaine 5K

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 24, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's Samantha Reilly was the top female runner in Saturday's Prefontaine Forest Run 5K at Silver Lake Recreation Area.

Reilly, who finished 22nd overall in the 162-runner field, crossed the finish line in 22:58, bettering her previous time by 29 seconds to establish a new school record in the 5K. 

Reilly led a quintet of runners who finished in the top 20 among females.

Mia Wiederkehr cut 35 seconds off her previous time to finish in 23:28, third among females and 26th overall. 

Monet Madeux was right behind Wiederkehr, finishing fourth among females and 35th overall with a time of 24:35, two seconds better than her previous time. 

Newcomer Ashley Jones, Ellie Stubblefield and Jeanna Prisco finished 18-20, respectively, among females. 

Jones, running her first race for the Eagles, posted a time of 27:44 while Stubblefield recorded a 27:51 and Prisco, 27:56. 

Regan Ward, who finished 24th, recorded the biggest drop in time for Tallahassee. After debuting with a time of 31:29 on August 26, she improved by 2:43 to finish with a time of 28:46. 

Jasmine Green finished 29th and also posted a time more than two minutes faster than her previous run. She finished in 29:09, a 2:07 improvement. 

Clover Carithers rounded out the Eagles' finishers, checking in 35th among females with a time of 30:43. 

Tallahassee head coach Gary Droze ran in the race and finished second overall – and second among males – with a time of 19:05. 

The Eagles' next race will be Friday, September 30, a dual meet in Marianna, Fla., against arch-rival Chipola College.
