#TCCWXC takes fifth at FSU Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 7, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's women's cross country team placed fifth in the College Division at Friday's FSU Cross Country Invitational. 

The Eagles, one of just two NJCAA schools competing in the event, were among 16 teams overall and eight in the College Division. 

A quartet of Division II schools - the University of Montevallo, University of North Georgia, University of West Florida and Columbus State University – finished ahead of Tallahassee. The Eagles (155 points) outscored Chipola College (169) to take fifth and also placed ahead of four-year programs Webber University and the University of Mobile. 

Individually, seven of the Eagles' eight runners recorded PRs in the 5K, led by Samantha Reilly, who lowered her time by more than two minutes. Finishing in 20:51.7, Reilly placed 28th out of 74 runners overall in the College division. 

Mia Wiederkehr finished 46th in a time of 22:06.2 (-1:22) and Monet Madeux, who previously ran the Apalachee Regional Park course as a high school standout at Merritt Island High School, finished in 23:09.3 (-1:26), good for 53rd

Also scoring for Tallahassee were Ashley Jones, who ran a 24:15.9 (-3:29), and Ellie Stubblefield, who posted a time of 25:38.6 (-2:03). 

Rounding out the Eagles' times on Friday were Jeanna Prisco (26:52.7), Regan Ward (26:56.3, -1:50) and Jasmine Green (27:23.4, -1:46).
