#TCCWXC: Three runners PR at Run for Lawson

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 22, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's women's cross country team ran its final regular season race on Saturday, competing in the sixth annual Run for Lawson 5K at Holy Comforter Episcopal School.

The event served as the Eagles' final tune up prior to three postseason events, beginning with the inaugural NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Cross Country Championship on Friday, November 4 at Apalachee Regional Park.

Tallahassee had eight runners participate on Saturday and each one finished inside the top 40 overall out of more than 205 runners in the co-ed race.

Samantha Reilly again paced the Eagles with a time of 20:56.5, tops among all female runners and seventh overall.

Mia Wiederkehr placed second among females and eighth overall, finishing the 5K in a time of 22:13.5.

Ellie Stubblefield, one of three runners who recorded personal records on Saturday, ran a 24:23.7, bettering her previous best time by 1:15, and finished 19th overall.

Ashley Jones (24:47.7) and Monet Madeux (24:48.9) finished 23rd and 24th, respectively.

Regan Ward shaved 36 seconds off her previous best time and finished in 26:20.2, good for 30th place overall.

Jeanna Prisco ran a 26:58.3 (36th place) and Jasmine Green improved her time by 12 seconds, finishing in 27:11.4 (39th place).

The team will now prepare for a trio of postseason events. Following the region championship, the Eagles will travel to El Dorado, Kan., for the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on November 12. One week later, the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships will take place in Gulf Shores, Ala.
