#TCCWXC earns academic all-America honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 23, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's first-year women's cross country team has been recognized as an academic team of the year by the NJCAA Cross Country Coaches Association.
To be eligible for academic team of the year honors, schools submitted its top five individual GPAs from the fall 2016 term and had to achieve a minimum 3.20 team GPA.
Tallahassee's quintet of Ellie Stubblefield, Mia Wiederkehr, Ashley Jones, Regan Ward and Samantha Reilly combined to post a 3.586 GPA in the fall, good for 14th overall in the team standings.
Individually, Stubblefield, Wiederkehr, Jones and Ward earned Women's Cross Country Scholar All-America honors for achieving a minimum 3.40 GPA in the fall term.
Stubblefield was one of 41 honorees who posted a perfect 4.0 fall GPA.
