#TCCXC: Eagles close fall schedule at half marathon

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (November 17, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College's cross country season hit the finish line on Saturday at the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships, held at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. 

Participating in the event for the second time, the Tallahassee women finished sixth with 83 points, up four spots from a 10th-place finish in 2016. 

Sophomore Mia Wiederkehr was the top finisher for the Eagles, completing the 13.1 mile race in 1:38:06, good for 22nd place overall. 

Freshman Kendall Ward finished 29th in 1:43:58 and sophomore Rachel Williams, 32nd, in 1:49:07, to round out the scoring. 

Freshman Genevieve Printiss finished 34th in a time of 1:52.41. 

Meanwhile, the Tallahassee men, who were making their #NJCAAHM debut, placed tenth. 

Five Eagles, all freshmen, participated in the event, led by Brandon Flagler, who finished 22nd in a school-record time of 1:17:28, eclipsing the previous mark of 1:28:13.1 by Travis Parks at the 2017 Barney's Run for Warriors in Albany, Ga. 

Gio Duran was next across the finish line for Tallahassee, posting a time of 1:28:54 to finish 39th.

Gannon Hundley completed the Eagles' scoring with a 40th-place finish in 1:33:15. 

Simon Hodgson (1:33:40) and Andrew McMillan (1:34:08) finished 41st and 42nd, respectively.
