Bio

Amanda Sava is a first-year coach at Tallahassee Community College and will assist with both cross country and track & field. 

A native of Seaford, Del., Sava was a four-year letter-winner in cross country and outdoor track at Florida Tech, an NCAA Division II program in Melbourne, Fla. 

As a freshman in 2013, Sava posted a season-best 5K time of 21:33.54 at the South Florida Invitational, ran a season-best 6K time of 27:04 at the Sunshine State Conference Championships and was later named to the South Region Championship team. She earned a spot on the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll and followed that by being named to the FIT Athletic Director's Honor Roll in Spring 2014, when she competed in distance events at five track meets. Seh recorded two top 10 finishes in the 5000m, including a season-best sixth place at the Walt Disney World Track & Field Open.

As a sophomore in Fall 2014, she competed in all six of Florida Tech's cross country races and posted a season-best 21:51 at the University of Florida's Mountain Dew Invitational. She was one of seven runners selected to represent Florida Tech at the NCAA South Region Championships where she ran a 26:39 6K, her best time of the season. During her sophomore track season in Spring 2015, she was named to the Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll and claimed a spot on the Peach Belt Conference Track & Field All-Academic Team. She competed in seven events for Florida Tech and ran a season-best 11:56.04 in the 3000m at the Embry-Riddle Last Chance Meet.

Sava continued to excel in both sports during her final two seasons with the Panthers. In 2015, she competed in six cross country races and ran a season-best 5K of 21:38 at the Florida State Invitational. The following spring, Sava clocked a career-best 5K of 20:09 at the UNF track invitational. In her final season in 2016, she ran in five meets, posting a season-best 5K time of 22:00 at the Florida Tech Cross Country Invitational and a season-best 6K time of 24:56 at the Sunshine State Conference Championships.

Sava enjoyed a decorated prep career at Sussex Technical High School, where she participated in cross country, winter track, soccer and spring track, earning seven varsity letters. She earned Academic All-Conference in 2010 for cross country, 2011 for cross country and soccer and 2012 for cross country and was named the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete for spring track. 

Sava graduated from Florida Tech in 2017 with a bachelor's in meteorology and is currently pursuing a master's degree at Florida State University in meteorology, Sava has remained active in Tallahassee's vibrant running community and you'll often find her participating in local races hosted by the Gulf Winds Track Club.
