Dr. James H. Hinson, Jr., TCC President

Dr. James H. Hinson, Jr., was named the third president of Tallahassee Community College in 1983. During his tenure, TCC received the best legislative funding support in the College's history. Another addition was a new administration building, which now bears his name.

In the four years he oversaw the Eagles' athletic programs, 55 student-athletes continued their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions. He was also responsible for renovating and expanding the athletic facilities.

In 2000, Dr. Hinson was inducted into the Florida Community College Activities Association Hall of Fame. The inductees were selected by their peers for outstanding contributions and dedicated service made to the FCCAA and its member colleges.
