Thirty-seven student-athletes earn spring academic honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 19, 2017) - During the recently completed Spring 2017 semester at Tallahassee Community College, a total of 37 student-athletes earned honors recognition for their work in the classroom. 

Six student-athletes were named to the President's List after achieving a 4.0 GPA during the spring term: Brandie Callaway, softball; Elisa Cecchetti, softball; Jack Hartman, baseball; Alyssa NeSmith, softball; Ellie Stubblefield, cross country; Regan Ward, cross country. 

The following student-athletes were named to the Dean's List (3.5-3.99 GPA): Brooke Bates, softball; Casey Cribb, baseball; Casey Durham, softball; Bamba Jaye, men's  basketball; Niko Leontarakis, baseball; Samantha Malik, softball; Nick Marchese, baseball; Raya Moncus, softball; Callie Paine, softball; Sina Ulbe, women's basketball; Cole Vann, baseball; Shaigna Wentz, women's basketball. 

The following student-athletes were named to the Honor's List (3.0-3.49 GPA): Nakiah Black, women's basketball; Brooks Buckler, baseball; Kacie Dobyanski, softball; Jasmine Green, cross country; Rosanna Jenije, women's basketball; Ashley Jones, cross country; Octavio Marin, baseball; Janessa Murphy, women's basketball; Bailey O'Grady, student trainer; Payton Parker, softball; Jeanna Prisco, cross country; Alyssa Rosenbaum, softball; Hunter Shuff, baseball; Alycia Smith, softball; Cassidy Strickling, softball; Mia Wiederkehr, cross country; Lawriell Wilson, women's basketball. 

The following student-athletes received Merit Recognition (students who are in developmental courses and complete a minimum of six hours with a 3.0-3.99 GPA): Leon Freeman-Daniels, men's basketball; Kiara Gaines, women's basketball. 

More academic accolades are on the horizon as the NJCAA, FCSAA and Panhandle Conference will announce its 2016-17 academic awards in the coming days.
