#TCCBasketball vs. Pensacola State Preview

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 19, 2018) – It will be a quicker turnaround that usual for Tallahassee Community College's men's and women's basketball teams, who host Pensacola State College for a Panhandle Conference doubleheader on Saturday. 

Game times are 5:30 p.m. (women) and 7:30 p.m. (men). Both games can be seen live on TCCeagles.com. 

Both Tallahassee teams are 1-2 heading into Saturday evening, which raises the stakes against the Pirates on Saturday, which marks the end of round one of the PC schedule. 

The Eagle men have dropped two straight games, including a 114-101 shootout on Thursday at Northwest Florida State College. Behind career-highs from Javien Williams (33 points) and JaQuan Morris (22), Tallahassee enjoyed its best offensive performance of the season, which included a 14-of-30 night from long distance, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Eagles' highest-scoring output in a loss since January 12, 1999 – a 145-138 loss to Gulf Coast State College. 

Pensacola State suffered a 19-point loss at home to Chipola College on Thursday and will be looking to avoid an 0-4 start in league play. 

The women's game will feature another showdown between nationally-ranked teams – No. 4 Tallahassee and No.12 Pensacola State. Both teams are 1-2, but while the Eagles watched a 13-point, third-quarter lead slip away before falling to Northwest Florida State, 64-56, on Thursday, Pensacola State kept Chipola winless in league play, defeating the Indians, 80-70. 

Saturday's winner will earn sole possession of third place in the PC standings, just one game behind second-place Northwest Florida State.
