Guest, Printiss named TCC’s top scholar-athletes

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 14, 2020) – Tallahassee Community College has named Jordan Guest and Genevieve Printiss as its Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, respectively, for the 2019-20 academic year.

Guest, a member of the men's basketball team and a native of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., transferred to TCC after spending his freshman year at Boston University. While enrolled at TCC, he posted a 3.85 GPA during the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 terms and graduated with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.

On the court, Guest helped the Eagles to the 2020 Panhandle Conference Championship and was named Second-team All-Conference. He appeared in 32 games, averaging 8.6 points and 5.5 rebounds.

For Printiss, who graduated from TCC with a perfect 4.0 GPA, the award is the latest in a string of academic honors for the two-sport standout and Carrabelle, Fla., native. This year, she has already been named NJCAA Scholar All-America by the NJCAA Cross Country Coaches Association, received the FCSAA's Larry Monts Scholar-Athlete Award for women's cross country and is a nominee for the state's female scholar-athlete of the year.

Printiss was a two-year letterwinner in cross country and was about to embark on her sophomore season in track when the COVID-19 pandemic ended the 2020 season just as it was getting started. In 2019, she finished third at the FCSAA Cross Country Championships to earn All-State honors and placed 67th overall at the NJCAA Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. As a freshman, she qualified for the NJCAA Division I Track Championships.
