Eagles Rise! Tallahassee now No. 3 in NJCAA Softball Poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 9, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College’s climb in the national rankings took another step on Wednesday when the Eagles moved up one spot to No. 3 in the new NJCAA Division I Softball Poll

Previous No. 1 Butler (Kan.) Community College dropped to No. 7, thus opening the door for this week’s top six teams to all move up one spot, beginning with new No. 1 Indian River State College. 

Indian River State and Tallahassee are 1-2 in this week’s FCSAA Softball Coaches’ Poll

Arizona Western College is ranked second, followed by Tallahassee, College of Southern Idaho, Chattanooga State (Tenn.) Community College and McLennan (Texas) Community College. 

Other FCSAA teams ranked in the top 20 include No. 11 Polk State College and No. 19 College of Central Florida. Daytona State College received votes. 

Tallahassee also held on to a national ranking in the NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll, checking in at No. 17. 

The Eagles, who rose as high as No. 4 in the national rankings, were ranked No. 11 in the previous poll on March 25. 

Tallahassee also remained inside the top 20 at No. 18 in the new Perfect Game Top 25 Junior College poll.
