Tallahassee men slip, women stay put in FCSAA rankings

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 8, 2014) – The first rankings of 2014 are out, and Tallahassee Community College continued to have a presence in the FCSAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls.

In the men’s rankings, Tallahassee slipped one spot to No. 5 while the Eagle women remained at No. 7.

On the men’s side, Panhandle Conference rivals Chipola College and Northwest Florida State College continue to sit atop the rankings followed by Mid-Florida Conference foes College of Central Florida and Daytona State College.

The second five begins with Santa Fe College and Eastern Florida State College, who are tied for sixth. Indian River State College sits at No. 8 and a pair of PC schools, Pensacola State College and Gulf Coast State College round out the top ten at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

In the women’s rankings, Gulf Coast State and Chipola continued to sit 1-2 while Northwest Florida State jumped two spots to No. 3. Palm Beach State College and St. Petersburg College slipped one spot each to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

The order of teams six through ten went unchanged – Florida State College at Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Hillsborough Community College, Pensacola State and Santa Fe.
