Few changes in FCSAA basketball coaches’ polls

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 20, 2013) – A week with less games and even fewer surprises resulted in little movement for Tallahassee Community College in the new FCSAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls, released on Tuesday.

For the second straight week, the Eagle men are ranked No. 4 while the Eagle women slipped one spot to No. 6.

In the men’s rankings, the top five teams stayed put from last week – Chipola College, Northwest Florida State College, College of Central Florida, Tallahassee and Santa Fe College.

Miami Dade College leads the second five, up two spots to No. 6. They are followed by Pensacola State College, Gulf Coast State College, Eastern Florida State College and Broward College, the only newcomer to this week’s rankings.

The women’s poll features the same ten teams from a week, with more than half holding serve in their ranking.

Chipola, Gulf Coast State, Northwest Florida State and Palm Beach State College remain ranked 1-4. Following a November 11 victory at Tallahassee, Florida State College at Jacksonville flipped spots with the Eagles and is ranked No. 5.

Behind Tallahassee is St. Petersburg College, Hillsborough Community College, Pensacola State and Santa Fe.

As teams continue to jockey for position in the FCSAA rankings, the first regular season NJCAA poll is just two weeks away – the men’s poll will be released Tuesday, December 3; the women’s poll, Wednesday, December 4.
