TCC All-American Clay Fenwick inks with Brewton-Parker

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 29, 2013) – Tallahassee Community College baseball standout Clay Fenwick has signed a national letter of intent with Brewton-Parker College.

Fenwick, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., enjoyed an all-America season with Tallahassee in 2013 after transferring from Wallace Community College-Dothan (Ala.), where he played his freshman season.

In addition to garnering second-team NJCAA All-America honors as an outfielder in 2013, Fenwick was first-team all-NJCAA Gulf District, first-team all-FCSAA and first-team all-Panhandle Conference after tallying two home runs, 54 RBI, 65 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in addition to a pair of numbers that put him among the best in school history.

For much of the 2013 campaign, Fenwick was on pace to obliterate the Eagles' single-season record for batting average before eventually checking in at a .431 clip, good for No. 3 on the school's all-time list. His average led the Panhandle Conference, was second in Region 8 (Florida) and seventh nationally.

He also led the PC, was second in Region 8 and 11th nationally with a .522 on-base percentage, a number that ranks second on the Eagles' all-time single-season list. In fact, Fenwick reached base in all but one of the 54 games in which he appeared, including 37 straight to start the season.

Fenwick's season ended prematurely when he sustained a sprained ankle during the opening game of the NJCAA Gulf District/FCSAA State Tournament, a 3-0 loss to Hillsborough Community College. As a result, he sat out the Eagles' final two games of the season.

Brewton-Parker, located in Mount Vernon, Ga., is a member of the NAIA's Southern States Athletic Conference.
