Nieporte, Dicks earn all-state honors

LAKELAND, Fla. (May 9, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College first baseman Quincy Nieporte and outfielder Christian Dicks were named FCSAA Second-team All-State on Thursday evening.

Nieporte and Dicks previously earned first-team All-Panhandle Conference honors after helping lead the Eagles to a 38-16 record and a berth in the NJCAA Gulf District/FCSAA State Baseball Tournament.

Nieporte, a freshman from Atlanta, Ga., has batted .381 with five home runs and led the Panhandle Conference with 56 RBI in 53 games. He was even better during the 20-game PC schedule, batting .438 with four homers and 27 RBI.

Dicks, a sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla., has batted .353 with eight home runs and 53 RBI in 52 games and hit at a .400 clip with five homers and 23 RBI in league play.

Nieporte, Dicks and the rest of the Eagles will continue postseason at 4 p.m. Friday against State College of Florida.
