TCC’s Cole Johnson signs with Point Park University

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 25, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College baseball standout Cole Johnson has signed a national letter of intent with Point Park University.

Point Park, an NAIA program located in Pittsburgh, Pa., competes in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC).

"I'm real proud for Cole," said Tallahassee head coach Mike McLeod. "He caught our eye as a walk-on, made our club and had some big days for us.

"I'm happy he has an opportunity with a school that has the tradition of Point Park."

Point Park won the KIAC regular season championship in 2014 and ended the season ranked in the NAIA Top 25.

Johnson, a native of Jupiter, Fla., transferred to Tallahassee after playing his freshman season at Indian River State College. With the Eagles, he appeared in 35 games, primarily at second base, and posted a .233 batting average with ten RBI and eight stolen bases.
