Eagles fight back, defeat Florida State College at Jacksonville, 7-6

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (February 3, 2015) – With the score tied at six, Robert Henderson singled home Cody Fulton with the go-ahead run, capping a four-run ninth inning rally in Tallahassee Community College's 7-6 win over Florida State College at Jacksonville on Tuesday afternoon.

Henderson was hot from the plate on Tuesday, going 2-for-5 with a run scored and the game-winning RBI.

Fulton racked up two RBIs on three hits for Tallahassee. He singled in the fifth, eighth, and ninth innings to collect a three-hit day.

The Eagles' rally gave the win to Cameron Paley, who pitched the eighth inning. Chris Elander came on and pitched a scoreless ninth, striking out the side, to notch the save.

Tallahassee took a 1-0 lead in the second. Henderson's double ignited the Eagles and he later scored on Zach Featherstone's single.

Florida State College answered with three runs in its half of the second, including an RBI-single by Christian Jones.

The teams traded runs in the fourth and Tallahassee scored another in the fifth but the Blue Wave answered again, this time scoring twice and took a 6-3 lead to the ninth.

The Eagles' first three batters walked in the ninth to load the bases. Singles by Fulton and Tyler Kinard plated the first two runs. Tyler Atwell then scored on an error to tie the game and set the stage for Henderson.

Tallahassee, now 2-3 on the young season, will play its home opener at 4 p.m. Friday against Gordon (Ga.) State College at Eagle Field.
