TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 10, 2015) – The Tallahassee Community College Eagles mounted another late game comeback to beat South Georgia State College 6-2 on Tuesday evening.

The game was a pitchers duel until the top of the sixth inning when the Hawks got on the board, scoring two runs.

The Eagles struck back in the bottom of the seventh.

After Tyler Atwell walked to get on base he advanced to second when Tyler Kinard hit into a fielders choice.  Zach Featherstone came to the plate and doubled down the first base line on a ground ball that brought Atwell in for the score.  Featherstone scored the game-tying run when Kyle Taddeo singled to shallow right for the RBI.

The Eagles broke the 2-all tie in the eighth inning, scoring four runs to take the lead.

Leadoff hitter D.J. McKnight reached base when he was hit by a pitch. After a wild pitch and sac bunt moved the go-ahead run 90 feet away, McKnight scored on Atwell's single to shallow center. A two-out error extended the inning and Tallahassee took advantage, adding three more runs.

Both Atwell and Taddeo went 2-for-3 at the plate with Taddeo recording two RBIs and Atwell, one.

Matt Schaffer, the last of four Eagle pitchers, picked up the win. He allowed one hit over the final 1.2 innings.

The Eagles' next game will be at home when they take on Shelton (Ala.) State Community College at 4 p.m. Friday in the first of a three-game series.
