TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 12, 2015) -- Tallahassee Community College released its 2015 baseball schedule on Monday.

The season is set to begin at the end of the month when the Eagles head to Panama City, Fla., to participate in the annual First Pitch Classic hosted by Gulf Coast State College, January 30-31.  As part of the Classic, the Eagles will play four games over the two days and will open with two traditional opponents from the state of Georgia – Darton State College, who ended 2014 at 44-19 and ranked No. 15 in the country, and Gordon State College.

Tallahassee opens the season against Darton State at 1:30 p.m. eastern, January 30.

The Eagles’ first home series is February 6-7 against Gordon State.

The season will also feature a three-game home series against Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College on February 27-March 1. Chattahoochee Valley finished the 2014 regular season atop the NJCAA Division I baseball rankings and earned a bid to the Division I JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colo.

After their series with Chattahoochee Valley, the Eagles will take on Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College, who travels to Tallahassee as part of its annual trip to the Sunshine State. The Raiders and Eagles will play doubleheaders on March 2-3.

Tallahassee will also face two opponents for the first time in the school’s history in March. The first is a home doubleheader against Black Hawk College-Moline (Ill.), an NJCAA Division II school, on March 18; the second, a two-game set at home with East Georgia State College on March 20-21.

The 20-game Panhandle Conference schedule begins on the road on Friday, March 13 against Pensacola State College. The regular season is scheduled to end at home on Friday, April 24 with the PC finale against arch-rival Chipola College.

The top two teams in the Panhandle Conference will earn an automatic berth to the NJCAA Gulf District/FCSAA State Baseball Tournament in Lakeland, Fla. The PC’s third-place team will advance to the FCSAA Wild Card round and an FCSAA Tournament play-in game against the third-place team from the Southern Conference. The game will be played at a neutral site.

Tallahassee won one of the two Wild Card berths in 2014 and finished the season 40-18.
