#TCCBaseball continues homestand vs. SCF

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 19, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's near-month-long homestand continues on Friday when the Eagles open a two-game series with long-time rival State College of Florida.

Both games, Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m., can be seen live on TCCeagles.com.

Tallahassee enters with a 12-3 record and is in its second week atop the NJCAA Region 8 Baseball Coaches' Poll while State College of Florida is 10-3 and ranked fourth. The Manatees also received votes in the NJCAA's Division I Baseball Preseason Poll. Both teams, however, will enter Friday's series opener off a mid-week loss.

On Wednesday, Tallahassee's bats went silent in a 3-1 loss to Florida State College at Jacksonville, a team State College of Florida swept in a three-game series last weekend. Last night, the Manatees gave up four runs in the eighth inning and fell to Pasco-Hernando State College, 8-6.

This marks the teams' only scheduled meetings in 2016, though postseason play could deliver another opportunity – either in the NJCAA Gulf District/FCSAA State Baseball Tournament or the tournament's Wild Card round, where the third-place teams from the Panhandle and Suncoast Conferences will meet in a one-game playoff for the right to advance to the 10-team tournament.
